Metropolitan Surgery Center has an immediate need for a per diem PreOp/PACU RN to join the team At Metropolitan Surgery Center, we believe health and care are inseparable. We focus on offering a high quality, service oriented environment for your surgical procedure. Our facility is accredited by Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Leader, the PreOp/PACU nurse is responsible for implementing all physician orders, providing for the continuity and quality of nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patients' condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times.
* Assess the status of patients' health in pre-op and ensure accuracy of identification wristband
* Initiate IVs and ensure that patients are informed about the procedure and attending medical staff

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
* Current New Jersey Nursing License
* Previous experience working in an ambulatory surgical setting preferred.
* Understand principles of aseptic technique and their implementation
* Ability to care for patients from infancy to geriatrics
* Possess basic knowledge of Performance Improvement ideology
