All procedures are performed with only the patient and technologist in the testing room. Ensures that tests meet or exceed the American Thoracic Society (ATS) and European Respiratory Society (ERS) standards and follow the guidelines incorporated in the laboratory's standard policy and procedure manual (SOPs). Responsible for reviewing patient test results and independently making decisions for additional testing according to lab protocol. Is accountable for calibration, proper use, and routine maintenance of all equipment. A credentialed Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT), or a Respiratory Therapist licensed by the State of Minnesota would qualify for the position. Previous experience working with patients/people is preferred including but no limited to healthcare, coaching, childcare, education, etc.
Must have good human relation and exceptional communication skills as 70-80% of time is spent instructing the patient on test performance. A Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (within three years of employment) or a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the State of Minnesota. Current Basic Life Support training is required prior to starting in the position.
Full Time
Monday - Friday, 8-hour shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm or 8:00am - 4:30pm.
