It is an exciting time to be a nurse at HCA Healthcare Help to advance the practice of nursing and improve positive outcomes for your patients as a (an) Performance Improvement Burn RN Coordinator PRN. The Performance Improvement Coordinator assists with and implements formal/informal education programs; based on evaluations of department needs and specifically from opportunities found from reviews of care. Demonstrates clinical competency and acts as a clinical resource, functioning as a role model for patient care and assists in staff development. The PI Coordinator will also coordinate Burn performance improvement for all Burn cases which includes creating identifying events, perform primary reviews, creating timelines, and preparing for upcoming committee meetings (including Burn Peer Review, Burn PIPS, etc). Organizational, Verbal, Interpersonal, Customer Relations, Mathematical, Statistical, Analytical, Grammar/Spelling, Read/Comprehend written instructions, Follow verbal instructions, Management and Planning skills. Ability to work effectively with patients, families, and the community. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
The PI & Quality Manager is expected to provide leadership in the Performance Improvement methodologies associated with the care of Burn patients. Acts as a resource to staff and assists in problem solving relating to the care of the Burn patient.
~ Assists Burn Medical Director in coordinating care with the attending physicians, consulting physicians, rehabilitation staff, dietician, and nursing.
~ Assists in the collection of Burn patient data and management of the American Burn Association (ABA) Burn Registry and required other reporting including reviews for HCA Eagle, American College of Surgeons (ACS) Burn Quality Improvement Program (TQIP), and preparation for presentations with stakeholders.
~ Demonstrates performance improvement skills. Reviews patient charts and other sources for data collection as assigned by the VP of Service Lines or Burn Medical Director for Burn PI development. Monitors care for complications, compliance of State, NTDB, and internal audit filters and standards of care.
~ Organize and manage the data collection for PI, utilizing national benchmarks to develop attainable goals for the Burn program. Evaluates standards, protocols, and procedures based on current medical and nursing research findings. Collects, analyzes and reports on patient outcomes, QI Indicators and variance data to improve Burn patient care process and outcomes.
Three to Five Years nursing experience in ED or Critical Care or experience in a Burn setting preferred.
Valid TN Nursing license (or eligible) required
Bachelor’s Degree, BSN preferred.
