Reporting into the Regional Director of Operations, the Practice Manager manages all essential business functions in the veterinary practice and supports the practice teams. The Practice Manger works in partnership with the Managing Doctor (MDVM) to ensure successful practice operations, high client satisfaction, and to manage practice teams. Additionally, they should ensure the practice has engaged and productive teams that are driving high-quality patient care and exceptional client service.
Understanding how a business works, how it makes money and how the strategies and decisions impact financial, operational and sales results.
Managers must be able to efficiently gather and analyze relevant data on different issues, evaluate results, and choose decisively between alternatives. Strategic thinking and planning are an essential part of financial forecasting, marketing plans, and long-term plans for growth of the practice. Planning & Priority : The manager has many different job responsibilities, several of which relate to compliance with professional and legal standards and regulations. Continuous Learning : Best practices in management and legal issues are constantly evolving and managers must keep up with these changes. Manage expenses including but not limited to drugs and supplies, labor and facility costs
Establish and execute performance evaluations
Establish internal operating procedures for the administration of the practice to ensure accuracy and completeness of veterinary records and reports, format, and compliance with the accepted hospital practices.
Partner with the MDVM to ensure all team members are adhering to practice operating procedures that ensure the accuracy and completeness of veterinary records and reports and ensure formats are in compliance with accepted practice guidelines.
Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and laws. Develop and maintain procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements.
Frequently connect with Heartland RDO to ensure the practice and teams have everything they need to ensure high performance client satisfaction.
Ability to work on weekends when needed
Previous veterinary medicine experience is preferred
Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
Computer skills, MS office applications, etc.
