Job Duties:

Reinforce stated treatment goals and objectives that are measurable.
Participate effectively in multidisciplinary treatment plan reviews, demonstrating adequate preparation and understanding of patient issues, progress, areas of resistance, positive and negative strategies, etc.
Document the patient’s progress accurately as it relates to treatment goals and objectives.
Assist patients in gaining group process skills.
Address problem behaviors.
Utilize experiential techniques effectively.
Create atmosphere in which self-disclosure is facilitated.
Conduct educational groups (lectures/videos/discussions) effectively.
Adhere to time schedules.
Assist patients gain insight into problems.
Assist patients in understanding treatment goals.
Give patient a clear picture of where he/she stands with regard to progress toward recovery as seen by the therapist and the multidisciplinary treatment team.
Enforce program rules and regulations in a firm but fair manner.
Confront and document counter-productive behavior appropriately.
Bond with patients and elicit respect.
Adapt to different types of patients.
Identify patient strengths and weaknesses.
Maintain healthy boundaries.
Be effective in finding needed resources.
Maintain clinical records according to program policies and those of licensing and accrediting agencies.
Ensure clinical documentation is completed timely to include general and DAP notes
Demonstrates knowledge of working with clients with substance abuse issues.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family, and/or Healthcare related field is preferred.
3-4 years of experience in substance abuse and mental health field.
CAP, preferred.
CPR certification required
Experience in conflict resolution
Compassionate and caring demeanor
Ability to build rapport with clients
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Familiar with community resources
Experience with KIPU EMR preferred

Abilities/Competencies:

Knowledge of principles and practices of the discipline.
