Atlanta GA, United States Boston Consulting Group Full time
WHAT YOU'LL DO
As part of the Global Business Intelligence & Analytics (BIA) team you will pioneer boundaries in technology and innovation.  You will play a pivotal role in harnessing the power of data to drive strategic decisions, fostering innovation, and providing powerful insights to steer the company towards success. Positioned at the heart of our global operations, you will lead a dynamic team in the pursuit of analytical excellence, turning complex data into actionable insights that shape BCG’s future.

As a Product Owner , you will empower teams and BCG leaders with advanced digital capabilities to deliver strategic insights into business performance, trajectory, and drivers. Your leadership will be key in developing tools that inform commercial strategy and investment allocations and in driving Revenue Operations initiatives to understand the current and forward-looking status of the business. In partnership with technical teams, you will steer the design and development of best-in-class analytical solutions and digital dashboards that provide BCG’s global leaders with actionable insights. Working closely with the senior leadership and BIA teams, you will guide an Agile team to prioritize features that maximize business value for your customers and drive our business forward. Your influence will also extend to change management – championing stakeholder adoption and fostering a culture of data-driven decision making and continuous business improvement.

The ideal Product Owner is a customer-centric leader who enjoys working with teams to design and deliver exceptional products to customers. You will lead a Squad and represent the “voice of the customer” by defining and managing the product backlog. Your ability to lead Squad members without line management authority over them will be key—you are a servant-leader and embody that in how you approach the work. You will coordinate closely with your Product Portfolio Leader to ensure your Squad’s alignment with overarching business goals and milestones.

Among your responsibilities, you will:
  • Work closely with business to develop analytic and reporting tools that support the firm’s Revenue Operations strategy
    • Building tools that enable better visibility into E2E customer pipeline management, customer lifecycle and churn prevention
    • Leveraging predictive analytics/ AI tools to deliver revenue forecasting insights and future conversion rates
  • Deliver business results and customer value
    • Ensuring that the Agile team builds the product in an incremental way, releasing valuable features at the end of each sprint to maximize customer value
    • Monitoring product performance to inform future work
    • Achieving measurable KPIs defined for your Squad
    • Managing product budgeting process and supporting Tribe Lead with the funding process
  • Serve as the voice of customer or end-user
    • Translating customer needs into user stories to ensure they are integrated into the Squad’s work
    • Proactively seeking customer feedback (e.g., via surveys & interviews) to understand their needs and requirements
    • Leveraging empirical and qualitative data to assess feature performance and inform prioritization, navigating tradeoffs between customer value, cost, and speed of execution
  • Oversee and prioritize the Squad’s work
    • Managing and owning a well-organized product backlog
    • Setting clear expectations for delivery timelines and acceptance criteria based on business objectives
  • Support and enable the Squad to get its work done
    • Providing ongoing guidance and feedback to Squad and Tribe members
    • Engaging with Chapter Leads regarding resourcing and functional expertise required in Squad
  • Set an overall vision to direct and inform the Squad’s work
    • Working closely with the Tribe Lead to ensure alignment with the Tribe’s business strategy, goals, and objectives
    • Translating Tribe objectives into a clear vision (e.g., via KPIs, sprint goals) for your Squad
    • Sharing priorities and output with fellow Product Owners to ensure alignment across the organization
  • Enable the organization’s new way of working
    • Modelling and reinforcing the behaviors that support the organization’s new ways of working
    • Cultivating an Agile culture within the Squad
YOU'RE GOOD AT
Business and analytic skills
  • Understanding the business, decision-making process, workflows, and information needs of business leaders and partners
  • Collaborating with teams to translate business needs into compelling analytics and visualizations that support executive decisions and workflow
  • Bringing a data-driven approach to decision making, both in day-to-day management and in making strategic trade-offs
  • Understanding the nuances of complex data to guide technical design choices
  • Being customer-centric and dedicated to understanding and learning about customer needs and requirements
  • Constantly looking for opportunities to innovate and get things done better and faster
Communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
  • Promoting a collaborative and safe working environment that fosters innovation and initiatives
  • Building strong and lasting relationships with team members and business stakeholders in multiple time zones, communicating openly and transparently both upward and downward
  • Being comfortable leading, directing, and empowering team members without formal management authority
  • Constructively challenging business on assumptions and goals; asking questions that effectively push thinking of business partners
  • Developing practical and acceptable compromises when negotiating
  • Demonstrating persistence to drive change
  • Leveraging network effectively across functions, offices, regions and/or externally

  • Proven ability to lead a technology-enabled and enterprise-level Business, Digital or Organizational transformation
  • Experience in consulting is a plus
