Assumes 24 hour accountability for operations of Labor & Delivery and Antepartum Service, as well as our 25 bed NICU. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the care of patients in designated areas. Develops patient care processes utilizing the nursing process-assessment, care planning, implementation, and reassessment- for identified population per the Colorado Nurse Practice Act. Documents patient care, coordinates interdisciplinary communication and care, participates on hospital committees, facilitate unit meetings, develops and implements unit specific competencies, annual performance of staff, supervises RN’s, Certified Scrub Technicians, and Unit Secretaries. Develop strategic plans for OB Services including: program development, quality standards and improvements, patient safety and patient satisfaction initiatives. Supports and models facility and department values, policies, and procedures.
Associate's degree required, Bachelor's degree preferred
