Travel risk technician

Under the guidance of the SMT Engineering and Manager, will do to support SMT, AOI, Xray, and hot air rework equipment. The scope of responsibility will include programming, profiling, debugging, and maintaining equipment in all these areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Generate AOI (automated optical inspection) programs and debug existing libraries to increase component inspection accuracy.
Program AXI (automated x-ray inspection) equipment.
Program, debug, and maintain SMT pick and place equipment.
Create soldering profiles for SMT reflow ovens and hot air rework equipment.
Program SPI (solder paste inspection) machines.
Make innovative programs for SMT screen printers.
Maintain a good working knowledge of IPC-610 workmanship standards
Discuss quality of soldering with engineering and adjusts controls according to instruction.
Support area leads and operators.
QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of an AA degree or certificate from a technical school preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in lieu of an academic degree.
EXPERIENCE
5+ years of direct experience working in SMT or PCBA process engineering.
Hands on experience with optimizing SMT pick and place, reflow oven, conformal coating, or through hole soldering systems.
Passion for advancing the commercial space industry and human spaceflight.
Strong work ethic and drive to succeed.
Ability to work in a fast paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up atmosphere.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Incumbent must be able to operate a computer.
Lift/carry 40lb. or less, push/pull 12lbs. or less.
Stooping, bending, stretching, and reaching outward and over their head.
This position may require extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
May require travel.
Associates will be required to take all appropriate training classes as required.
Willingness to cross-train into other departments.
