Apply today and learn how MedStar Health can be your next great career move Prima r y Duties: Performs exams such as abdominal echoes, renal, aorta, thyroid, pelvic, obstetrical, bio-physical profiles, vascular studies, testicular and breasts. Color flow studies, Doppler studies, renal biopsies, and fluid collections of localized areas. Checks all films with radiologist; Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards. Follow the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens. Maintains ultrasound rooms for optimum efficiency: This entails stocking rooms with laundry, aquasonic gel, needles, gloves, and alcohol for assisting the radiologist with procedures. Receives and reviews exam requests for ultrasound studies. Qualifications: Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program. 1-2 years' experience from an acute care hospital. RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) or eligible.
