This position supports the mission of The Medical Center of Aurora/Centennial Medical Plaza in optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person. Facilitates the development, implementation and ongoing adherence of sepsis program protocols and therapies. Ensures the protocols and therapies become the standard of care followed within the facility. Collaborates with medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care to patients with a diagnosis of sepsis. Rounds with physicians with diagnosis of sepsis, reviews clinical data. Provides education and clinical expertise to care team, patients and families. Collaborates with physicians and staff in an effort to decrease mortality and length of stay. Identifies and integrates patient learning needs, abilities and readiness into the Plan of Care. Works in collaboration with the nursing team to develop and implement individualized teaching plans for patients and families in regards of Sepsis diagnosis. Collects and analyzes sepsis program patient data to assist with documentation, clinical care and improved outcomes. Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. Three - Five years minimum experience in clinical nursing.



Located in Aurora, Colorado, The Medical Center of Aurora offers over 346 beds. It has five medical campuses, including the Main South Campus, the North Campus Behavioral Health and Wellness Center, Centennial Medical Plaza, Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital, and Spalding Rehabilitation at P/SL. The Main Campus is a Level II Trauma Center with Primary Stroke Certification and Chest Pain Center accreditation, serving the eastern metro area and I-70 corridor. The South Campus has a Level III NICU.
