Under the direction of the CNO, Nursing Director: Inpatient Services, and charge nurses, this position encompasses the provision and management of patient care through implementation of the nursing process, delegation to and supervision of licensed and unlicensed personnel, and coordination of interdisciplinary care.
Current unencumbered Arizona (or Compact) Registered Nursing License
Preferred two years critical care experience within the last five years
Able to communicate effectively in English both orally and written
Above average computer skills
Demonstrates ability to navigate the electronic healthcare record
Familiar with Microsoft word and excel
Able to manage, prioritize, and delegate patient care appropriately and effectively
Verbalizes understanding of the Nursing Process to direct patient care effectively
Bar-Code Scanning
Familiarity with invasive hemodynamic monitoring interventions including:
Set-up & monitoring
Interpretation and application of data
Equipment
Familiar with Smart Sigma IV Pumps, patient monitors (Tele, ETCO2), Feeding pumps, Wound Vac, hospital beds
Essential Nursing Job Functions:
Provides patient care utilizing the nursing process to address the needs medical and nursing needs.
Provides age specific and culturally appropriate care (Pass Quizzes 80%).
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and how to incorporate these into the patients care
Demonstrates cultural competence and how to provide culturally appropriate care
Performs complete and accurate data entry into the electronic healthcare record according to hospital and departmental policies.
Documents patient care in the appropriate template/category
Addresses patient needs within the Care Plan
Assessments, procedures, and nursing notes in appropriate location
Through collaboration with the healthcare team, keeps providers aware of patient status including assessment findings and response to interventions, as well as results of diagnostic or point of care tests.
Keeps patients, families, and/or significant others informed of plan of care and progress through their hospital stay.
Provides holistic care through proactive and timely implementation of ordered medical, as well as nursing, interventions to provide and promote patient wellness.
ensure complete and accurate timekeeping, as well as appropriate and effective utilization of supplies and equipment.
Participates in hospital and departmental Quality Assessment Process Improvement activities
Actively models and promotes through words and actions professionalism, high ethical standards, customer service, and adherence to hospital and departmental policies and protocols.
Able to communicate and model the hospital mission, vision, and goals
Maintains HIPAA and regulatory compliance
Provides supervision of licensed and unlicensed staff to assure safe and effective patient care
Nursing specific procedures
Collaborates with and coordinates patient care through ancillary departments to provide continuity of care throughout the hospital stay
