Job Summary:
As a Principal Software Engineer, you have the opportunity to directly impact the world around you and contribute to classified programs and technologies you are passionate about. Our small agile teams adapt to evolving customer and warfighter needs.
We are seeking software engineering professionals to work onsite in our Aurora, CO location.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:

* The ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance is required. Develop software for cutting edge satellite ground systems with space network ground segments and users around the world.
* Experience with the full software lifecycle including design, development, test, delivery, and maintenance.
* Exposure to various technologies and techniques including Multi-Tiered Architectures, Amazon Web Services, Geospatial Visualization Tools, Digital Engineering, and Automation Frameworks that support advanced spacecraft missions.
* Work with modern DevSecOps development practices and utilize Agile processes.
Basic Qualifications:

* Typically requires Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of software engineering experience.
* Experience implementing object-oriented software using Java and C++.
* Experience with satellite flight dynamics
* Active and transferable Top Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
* U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:

* Background in planning and scheduling algorithm implementation.
* Background in microservices, Kubernetes, and containerized applications
* Knowledgeable on Agile development and software best practices,
* Experience working within LINUX/UNIX operating systems.
* Experience working with applications in the AWS Cloud
* Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration/Continuous Development

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
