Hennepin Healthcare seeks a BC/BE Neurologist to join the Department of Neurology.
Full-Time with excellent benefits
Emphasis on inpatient neurology (24/7, 7 days on/7 days off work schedule) with an estimated 15-20 patients/day
Consult-only service, including consults in the intensive care unit, general medical floor, and the emergency room
You will be expected to lead a large teaching service comprised of residents, interns, medical students, and a stroke APP.
First call for all consults, including at night, are managed by the in house neurology residents. The staff neurologist is not expected to be in the hospital after hours. Opportunities for research and involvement in clinical trials available to motivated applicants.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable treating acute neurological issues, have an academic mindset, and dedicated to the treatment of the underserved.
Although this position is focused on inpatient neurology, the balance of inpatient vs outpatient is negotiable.
Hours are M-F (8 am-6 pm) in the hospital and on-call (pager) after hours and weekends 8 am to the end of rounds, and pager call thereafter. Minimum Education / Work Experience
Must possess a current unrestricted license to practice Medicine in the State of Minnesota or be eligible for licensure
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology
If Board Eligible, must be Board Certified within 4 years from the date of completion of the applicable residency, fellowship or training program
Positions at Hennepin Healthcare are credentialed through the Office of the Medical Staff in accordance with its policies.
