The HCA Nurse Residency Program is a year-long program designed to give you hands-on experience to help establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills. Join the 25 Bed Neuro Trauma Unit This unit focuses on supporting those patient that require Stroke, neurological, neurosurgical, and trauma related injury care. Career Pathway program offered to ICU, ED, and muliple other specialty areas including Stroke Coordinator, Cath Lab, EP Lab and more.
$10,000 Sign On Bonus for eligible candidates for FT Night Shift only and can not be combined with other bonuses or HCA Loan/Scholarships.
$5,000 Relocation Bonus offered for those more than 50 miles from our hospitals

The HCA Nurse Residency Program at Overland Park Regional Medical Center provides you with the tools necessary to succeed in today’s hospital environment. Advanced clinical training in a specialty area.
Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor.
Working collaboratively on an evidence-based practice project.
The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN Resident provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN Resident serves as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience.
Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Teach patients, families and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
No previous experience needed

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is a 340+ bed facility offering acute medical services to our patients. We are Johnson County’s only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Level II Trauma Center. Our hospital is a premier area destination for Women's & Children’s healthcare services. We offer the region’s only Maternal Fetal Health Center to care for critically ill mothers and their babies. Our hospital has an antepartum unit, a labor and delivery unit, and a Level III NICU. We have four emergency rooms, including a dedicated Pediatric emergency room and two freestanding ERs located in Olathe and Shawnee.
