Brief Description of Job Responsibilities:
  • Telephone triage.
  • Give patients telephone advice using nursing judgment within the scope of license.
  • Communicate with providers about patient calls received.
  • Triage patients to the appropriate setting if there is a need to be seen.
  • Provide patient education.
  • Report test results to patients and instruct as to the appropriate follow-up.
  • Call in prescription refills as directed.
  • Assist in scheduling patients.
  • Communicate with hospitals and other offices as directed by providers.
  • Rooming patients.
  • Assisting with procedures.
  • Perform related work as required/requested by the supervisor/coordinator.

Job Summary:
  • Serves as a site contact for the department
  • Maintains a leadership role at the site at all times
  • Provides feedback for co-worker employee evaluations
  • Assists, supports, and implements process changes at the direction of the supervisor
  • Attends meetings at the direction of the supervisor
  • Supports staff at the site with EPIC and other job functions
  • Facilitates on-site training of new staff
Education/Experience/Certifications:
  • RN with current Wisconsin license.
  • Current CPR Certification.
Non-Essential Duties:

Other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Typical Physical Demands:

Work requires physical hand dexterity and full range of motion for operation of computer. Requires sitting for long periods. Vision must be correctable to 20/30 and hearing must be within the normal range. Requires the ability to work under stressful or emergency situations with high concentration and energy level.

Typical Working Conditions:

Work is performed in an office environment. Involves phone contact with a various array of patients, employees, and providers. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls and emergencies.
