Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager the Charge Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. Patient Care Essential Job Functions
• Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
• Monitors all aspects of care, including diet and physical activity.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skill in nursing processes/procedures, in accordance with policies and procedures.
Managing Staff: Coaches, evaluates, develops, and inspires staff; adheres to and supports company policies, procedures and safety guidelines.
• conducts appropriate analysis; Strategic planning and organizing: Quality Improvement: Strives for efficient, effective, high-quality performance in self and the department; expects honest and ethical behavior of self and staff.
• works in partnership with others; is flexible; participates in performance improvement activities and self-development; attends in-services and other mandatory training; Education and Training: Holds current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state where the hospital resides. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses, High Ops, and ICU. **
Experience: One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
Verbal ability to effectively express ideas and views for communication with (as appropriate) pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, visitors, and staff members.
• Read and write English language including medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Clerical ability to document completely and accurately in medical record.
• Cognitive ability to implement the nursing process with (as appropriate) pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in the nursing setting.
• Organizational ability to complete nursing tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
•Ability to motivate staff in performance of patient care.
