The Opportunity

We're seeking a dedicated full-time travel provider to work in a support role across a group of clinics located in Southern Maine. Successful candidates must be willing and able to travel throughout the region and will be responsible for providing medical care and support services to patients at each clinic as needed. This position requires regular travel between sites and flexibility in scheduling to accommodate varying shifts at each location. Primary clinics in need of support are Portland, Westbrook, Sanford, and Saco.

Travel providers receive a set hourly wage along with a travel stipend to be paid monthly. Travel providers will not be eligible for mileage reimbursement beyond their monthly stipend. This role is a 1-year contract with the option for renewal.

Your Impact

Patient Care: Provide a high-level of patient care in adherence with CMD's policies and procedures.
Assess patient health: Interview patients, perform physical examinations, obtain, update, and study medical histories.
Determine abnormal conditions: Administer or order diagnostic tests (e.g., x-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory studies) and interpret test results.
Perform therapeutic procedures: Administer injections and immunizations, suture, manage wounds and infections.
Instruct and counsel patients: Describe therapeutic regimens, give information on normal growth and development, discuss family planning, provide counseling on emotional problems, and promote wellness and health maintenance.
Clinic Effectiveness: Work collaboratively and pro-actively with other providers and health care practitioners within your clinic to efficiently treat patients, and plan coordinated, efficient, and thoughtful dispositions (including transfer), all in a timely manner.
Identify short-term and long-range patient care issues, provide information and commentary for deliberations, recommend options and courses of action, implementing physician directives.
Documentation and Compliance:
Prepare clear, complete, accurate, and legible medical records for each patient under your care. Type, edit, and electronically sign all office notes, reports and records using the Centers' systems in accordance with the Centers' policy and in a timely fashion.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company and state procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
Comply with legal and professional requirements including studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management on needed actions
Continuing Education & Mentorship
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Act as a preceptor to new provider staff, develop Providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities.
Leadership, Teamwork, & Flexibility: Fully cooperate with CMD's efforts to develop and the clinic's services to meet community needs.

Who You Are

Education, Licensure, & Certifications:
Master's degree
Certification by Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner certifying body
Have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions
BLS certified
Relevant experience: Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferred.

Proactive and confident communicator (written and verbal): Foreshadows and elevates concerns as they arise, unafraid of professional directness both with colleagues and patients.

Strong knowledge of:
Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices.
Relevant drugs and their chemical composition, structure, and properties of substances and of the chemical processes and transformations that they undergo.
Non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, their applicable uses, and relevance to patient care.
Current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.

Physical Requirements

Requires the ability to stand and sit for hours at a time. Some bending and stooping is required.
Must be able to use manual dexterity in relation to clinical requirements.
Must be able to lift 50lbs.
