Per Diem Nuclear Tech

Operate radioscopic equipment to produce diagnostic scans and measure concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specific body areas.
Properly prepares radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear medicine procedures as requested by physician. Effectively operates gamma cameras and other equipment; contacts the appropriate person when equipment malfunctions.
Effectively performs quality control checks on the equipment as mandated by the regulatory agencies and keep an accurate log of the checks performed.
Participates in performance improvement activities; quality improvement and patient safety activities; assists in maintaining compliance with NYSDOH accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including the code of conduct
Supports and upholds established hospital and department policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, and codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.
Ensures that equipment, supplies and accessories are available as needed
Properly transports patients to Nuclear Medicine exam room; Effectively provides education and technical demonstrations to students, nursing staff, and other health care professionals; assists in orienting and mentoring staff.
Hours: Per Diem. Monday - Friday
00 per hour and per diem incentive
