Employment Type: Per Diem
**Accurately and efficiently transports lab-related supplies, equipment and specimens
* Transport specimens in compliance with regulatory guidelines
* Properly identifies patients and collects specimens in compliance with regulatory guidelines
* Processes specimens and accurately applies appropriate barcode labels prior to delivery to specific lab departments for testing
* Performs venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, assists physician with bone marrow collection, point of care glucose and iSTAT testing in compliance with regulatory guidelines on all applicable patient populations at facility and area nursing homes
**Answer telephone in an polite and efficient manner
**Works as part of a team with all Pathology and NMHS employees
**Accurately reports point of care testing results in timely manner
* Accurately performs point of care quality control
* Accurately documents all necessary information on patient specimen tubes/containers and in Laboratory Information System (LIS)
* Assist with maintaining inventory related to specimen processing
**Adheres to NMHS/NMMC Policies/Procedures/Guidelines
* Complies with applicable Local/State/Federal policies/procedures/guideline/regulations/laws/statues
Proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel); required North Mississippi Health Services Job ID #2232-000AVR. Phlebotomist- Variable Shifts
