Facility in Connecticut is looking for an experienced MedSurg Float RN for an immediate start for day shift. Would be responsible for floating between Medsurg, Telemetry, Ortho, Surgical, Oncology, Hospice and possibly Psych. Must have a minimum of 2 years experience and previous travel experience to be considered. Knowledge with EPIC is highly preferred.

BLS Must have CT License prior to subbing

Schedule Information

Shifts available are 8's or 12's with a 7a start time. Every other weekend requirement. Holidays: Every other.

Unit Specific Information

Unit Areas include: Tele, Medsurg, Ortho, Surgical, Oncology, Hospice. Can go to psych if qualified. Ratios: 1:5-1:7 EMR: Cerner Epic conversion by Feb 2020 Charge Nurse: Depends on unit Nurse Aides: Yes 1:8 Scrub Color: Caribbean blue, with the ability to wear black and white shirts under uniform. Top layer must be in the uniform color, pants may be black or Caribbean blue. Tele: Depends on unit Vents: No Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes IV Team: Yes, 7am-8:30pm. Must try first. Nurse Resource available 24/7 for IV help 7pm-7am RT 24/7: Yes Pharmacy 24/7: Yes Floating: Yes Floor specific orientation: 2 shifts Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Varies

Additional Details

Looking for a strong Med/surg tele nurse. Must be flexible, empathetic and compassionate. Very high acuity homeless, substance abuse and mental health patients. Very difficult patients. 12 hour nights.
