We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) to join our client’s team in providing culturally competent substance use counseling services to individuals within the LGBTQ+ community.
*Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' substance use history, mental health status, and treatment needs, with a particular focus on understanding the intersectionality of identity and addiction.
* Offer support and advocacy for clients navigating social, legal, and healthcare systems, including assistance with accessing LGBTQ+-friendly resources and services.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including psychiatrists, social workers, case managers, and medical providers, to ensure coordinated care and holistic support for clients.
* Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with ethical standards, agency policies, and regulatory requirements.
* Engage in outreach and community education efforts aimed at reducing stigma, promoting awareness, and addressing the unique needs of LGBTQ+ individuals affected by substance use.
* Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.
* Knowledge of LGBTQ+ cultural competency principles, terminology, and community resources.
* Understanding of the intersectionality of substance use, mental health, trauma, and identity factors within the LGBTQ+ community.
* Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
