Our company is built upon the talent and experience of our associates, and we are looking for a driven and team-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our growing team.

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the engineering and design of electrical systems for assigned projects. Specifically, this position will utilize knowledge and skills in the engineering and design of HVAC and plumbing projects. This position will identify and provide solutions to electrical design problems and will initiate conceptual designs subject to the review and approval of the Electrical Engineer Team Lead, Engineering Manager, and Preconstruction Manager.
Responsible for assisting in all aspects of the electrical design of the project assigned
Report to the team lead electrical engineer regarding scheduling requirements
Create construction drawings, perform calculations, and write specifications as required by the team lead electrical engineer
Must be familiar with the project's scope of work, engineering hours budget, and construction budget
Assist in developing and maintaining drafting, design, and engineering standards
Utilize knowledge of engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete the drawings with minimal supervision
Collaborate with project teams to monitor and meet milestones of the project schedule
Perform site surveys and equipment assessments
Provide project engineering coordination during construction as assigned
Serve in a support role on projects as directed by the team lead electrical engineer
Assist in developing accurate preliminary design solutions for prospective complex projects within an expedited timeframe
Interact with project stakeholders, contractors, and third-party associates to develop and maintain productive working relationships
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of one 5 years electrical engineering experience with a professional engineering firm, or electrical contractor engaged in MEP related or similar work
Willingness to travel to worksites, up to 25%
Understanding of electrical and construction means, and methods associated with the renovation of commercial and institutional buildings and/or similar facilities
Fire Alarm, TeleCom, Security, etc.)
Proficient user of Microsoft office suite; highly proficient use of Excel and other software used in the construction industry
Familiarity with project management software (e.g. Proficient user of AutoCAD/Revit Design software
Excellent mathematic skills in order to perform the duties of this role, review or prepare budgets and other job-related documents, and to effectively perform the role of an electrical engineer
must be able to prepare professional written communications (emails, documents, etc.)
Self-managing, able to work autonomously when necessary and effectively integrate with project teammates to meet deadlines and expectations
Demonstrate the ability to approach new and demanding situations with innovation and determination
Operate at a high level of speed and productivity, be sensitive to time and cost factors associated with their expertise, project budgets and company-wide financial goals
ability to analyze data and relay trends and potential outcomes; Work is performed mostly in office settings. Some outdoor work is required in the inspection of various land use developments, construction sites or public works facilities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate drafting instruments, computers, and various pieces of office equipment. The employee may occasionally near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. Travel may include overnight stays for multiple nights; travel may be by personal vehicle or by commercial airplane.
