The Division of Developmental and Behavioral Health at Children’s Mercy Kansas City, in collaboration with the Comprehensive Pain Management Program, is recruiting a pediatric pain psychologist. The psychologist’s role will primarily include 1) providing consultation and follow-up care in an outpatient interdisciplinary pain clinic, and 2) providing individual and group therapy for adolescents during participation in our pediatric intensive interdisciplinary pain treatment program (the “RAPS” program). This position will primarily support the clinical activities of Children Mercy’s expanding pain management service. This includes teaching and supervising in the hospital’s pediatric medical residency, psychology fellowship, APA-accredited psychology internship, and/or psychology practicum programs. The position carries an academic appointment at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, with rank commensurate to qualifications and experience.
1) A PhD (or equivalent) in clinical psychology, pediatric psychology, or child clinical psychology
2) Completed an APA-approved internship
Preferred qualities:
1) Fellowship level training in pediatric psychology including evaluation and treatment of chronic pain
