Boston MA, United States Egeriagroup Full time

Egeria Boston is looking for an Associate to join the team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to use your passion for entrepreneurship and investing within Private Equity. You will be challenged to develop quickly by actively participating in building a new private equity business in the U.S. and working with the firm’s current U.S. portfolio.

About the Associate Role

As an Associate in the U.S. Private Equity team, you will be involved in all phases of the investment process while simultaneously contributing to the establishment of a new U.S. private equity business.
Investment process activities will range from identifying and evaluating investment opportunities to acquiring and ultimately divesting portfolio companies. As an Associate on this new team, you will be responsible for assisting with analyzing all new investment opportunities. The learning curve will be steep, and you will have the opportunity to take on as much responsibility as possible. During the investment period, you will support the management of our companies in the implementation of the strategy by, for example, preparing competitive and market analyses, analyzing financial results and developing strategic initiatives.

When you work at Egeria, you are part of a family. We are focused on results, but we think it is just as important how we achieve that result. By building together, learning from each other and celebrating successes together. There is a lot of room for personal development and training.

Responsibilities

  • Active support around sourcing of new investment opportunities
  • Proactive industry research and focus on expansion of the Egeria network
  • Direct responsibility during the investment process for new platform investments and add-on acquisitions
  • Day to day management of portfolio companies. Active support of key strategic, human capital, financial and operational projects
  • Trusted sparring partner for founders and management teams

Investment Approach (Evergreen)

The U.S. team will initially invest capital as part of the firm’s Evergreen strategy. Eqeria’s Evergreen fund currently has 7 portfolio companies (1 in the U.S., 6 in Europe). We stand out from many other mid-market investors by our investment horizon of 10+ years per company and by our flexibility to invest in both Europe and the US.

Evergreen is currently active in the HVAC, Aviation and Digital Media segments and we also intend to make new investments in a select number of other sectors with the aim of being active in 5 to 6 segments. Egeria Evergreen's investment team consists of 2 Partners, an Investment Director, three Investment Managers and two Associates. The U.S. team consists of 1 partner and 1 Investment Manager (VP).

What we offer:

  • Key role in a newly established geography of a 25-year old European private equity firm
  • Good further career opportunities with an internationally growing fund
  • Extensive opportunities for (professional) education and training, with the aim of promoting continuous growth and strengthening (individual) skills
  • Many responsibilities during the investment process and the further development of the companies
  • Clear path to advancement
  • Working in an international setting with an investment focus on the US and Europe
  • Competitive compensation

Application Process

For a complete application, we would like to ask for your CV/resume, college transcripts and a motivation letter. After your application, you will hear within five working days whether you have been invited for the first round of interviews, consisting of one or two interviews. Cases are an important part of these interviews, but questions will also be asked about your motivation and your personal experience. Within two days you will call with feedback and hopefully an invitation for the second round. The second round consists of several interviews where you can expect cases again. When you successfully complete these conversations, you will receive an offer.
