Qualifications:

  • Degree: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
  • Education: Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada, with a degree accredited by recognized bodies such as the American Medical Association, American Medical Colleges, Liaison Committee on Medical Education, or American Osteopathic Association.
  • Certification: Board-eligible or board certified.
  • Internship/Residency: Successful completion of an internship and residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association.
  • Experience: Clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine as required.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform a full range of physician services within the scope of granted privileges.
  • Provide instruction and assistance to other healthcare professionals within the assigned scope.
  • Conduct examinations, diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, and provide preventive and health maintenance care.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, consult with appropriate physicians or clinics, and make referrals when necessary.
  • Direct and teach medical staff, provide educational lectures, and participate in in-service training.
  • Meet or exceed the minimum workload standards for a Neurologist.
  • Request and interpret diagnostic tests, render diagnoses, and provide necessary treatment.
  • Prescribe and dispense medications based on diagnosis and medical condition.
  • Complete the required documentation for each patient in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and ensure patient access to medical care.
  • Maintain availability throughout scheduled shifts and provide continuity of care beyond regular working hours.
