We are currently hiring a Software-focused Principal Systems Engineer to join the Effectors Systems Design & Architecture (SDA) organization located in Tucson, AZ.
SDA is an exciting and challenging environment where you will have the opportunity to design, develop and partner with multi-disciplines to shape innovative solutions for our customers. Join our organization and experience the Systems V engineering life cycle while interfacing with a variety of engineering disciplines, subject matter experts, chief engineers, chief technologists, the customer and so much more to ensure we design, integrate, and strengthen our systems to work the first time and every time for our warfighters
This position is a technical role with leadership elements contributing closely to the successful software upgrades of missile programs for both fielded and development systems. The SE will assist in leading Systems Engineering team tasking while closely contributing to that technical tasking for the program. The SE role requires a high level of technical proficiency in the area of embedded software design, integration and test. This included multi-disciplined coordination, and establishing and maintaining relationships with the embedded software team and customer technical community.
Update and maintain all system and subsystem level requirements specifications for embedded software, configurable logic and/or test systems software
Work closely with the Systems, Software, Configurable Logic and Test teams on a variety of program technical tasks
Become a knowledgeable and 'go-to' Systems Engineer for the software centric program capabilities
Help to onboard new team members, mentor, and guide them using core Systems Engineering skills
Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
Software architecture, design, development, integration, and verification
Systems engineering, architecture, and/or design
System performance and analysis
Four (4) years of systems engineering experience with exposure in at least four of the following:
Software or Firmware development
Software or Firmware testing
Performing Functional & Physical Analyses
S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
MS or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Math or Physics
Experience using Agile framework development methods/processes
Experience using Azure DevOps methods/tools
Experience with Matlab, C, C#, C++, Python
Past work experience in a challenging fast paced environment
Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance
Understanding of Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle
Familiarity with system safety, reliability, or mission planning
Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risks
Prior work experience giving technical briefs or presentations
Experience with Cost Account Management or Earned Value Management
