The Senior Coatings Inspector will oversee coating inspections, provide technical expertise, and ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

  • Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (NACE III) Responsibilities*
  • Perform inspections and assessments of coating applications on vessels and marine structures according to NACE standards and project specifications.
  • Conduct surface preparation inspections, including abrasive blasting and cleaning methods, to ensure adherence to cleanliness and profile requirements.
  • Monitor coating application processes, including thickness measurements, adhesion tests, and holiday detection (spark testing).
  • Evaluate coating materials, techniques, and equipment to ensure they meet project requirements and industry standards.
  • Document inspection findings, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records of coating inspections and test results.
  • Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to resolve coating-related issues and ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to junior inspectors and coating application teams to enhance quality and adherence to specifications.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to coatings and corrosion protection.
  • Senior Certified Coatings Inspector (NACE III) Position Requirements*
  • Five (5) years of experience to include a minimum of three (3) years in a NACE Level III role and a minimum of one (1) year of supervisory and/or management experience Knowledge of the marine industry and NAVSEA standards
  • NACE Level III Certification or equivalent
  • Nondestructive Testing (NDT) experience preferred
