Come join and grow the team that provides documentation on how to best develop, build, test and deploy software for Amazon’s internal software engineering community. In this role, you’ll own the content strategy and documentation that’s instrumental in the success of Amazon’s developers, world-wide.
Defining the overall content strategy across specific developer tools (e.g., writing software that uses Amazon Web Services, writing software for mobile devices, etc.).
- Leading the direction for the documentation authoring tools used by writers and software development teams.
- The Software Builder Experience organization you’ll be a part of includes product teams located across multiple locations, including Seattle, Arlington, and Sydney.

Degree in Technical Writing, English, Computer Science, or a related field; in lieu of this degree, relevant work experience will be considered.
- 5+ years' experience in a technical writing role
- 5+ years' experience writing for a developer or IT operations (DevOps) audience
- 5+ years' experience writing code or automation scripts as part of published documentation
- 5+ years' experience working on multiple documentation projects simultaneously with competing priorities and deadlines
- Experience with web services
- Experience with an object-oriented programming language such as Java, Ruby, or C#
- Experience with an automation scripting framework such as bash shell scripting, Windows batch scripting, or Windows PowerShell
