Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) provides comprehensive kidney care and a full spectrum of kidney disease management resources for residents of Southern Nevada. Our care team educates and empowers patients who are living with kidney pain, infections, stones, and other kidney problems. We are looking for a dynamic Interventional Nephrologist to join our growing team.

KSOSN provides patients with a complete and comprehensive management approach to chronic kidney dysfunction and its related complications. We educate and empower patients living with kidney problems. Our nephrologists and caring staff help patients manage kidney disease with knowledge and leading-edge medical treatments. Our goal is to improve our patients’ quality of life by providing them with the tools to prevent, or delay as long as possible, the need for dialysis.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Performs Vascular Access procedures to include, but not limited to, angiogram, angioplasty, thrombectomy, stent placement, catheter removal, exchange, and placement
  • PD catheter placement, adjustment, and removal are preferred by not required
  • Diagnoses, treats, and provides clinical care to patients to meet their medical needs.
  • Educates patients on wellness, prevention and early detection of kidney disease by providing materials and resources to patients and patient family members.
  • Makes referrals to other physicians as required based on examination and patient needs.
  • Determines level of urgency of follow-up, referral/consultation appointments.
  • Exercise sound medical judgement in all issues of health care.
  • Prescribes medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients.
  • Orders and interprets laboratory test and orders ancillary services.
  • Documents all services in patient medical record.
  • Consults other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care, assessment, and education issues.
  • Participates in quality improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by clinic requirements.
  • Assists in the resolution of complaints, request and inquiries from patients.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.

Requirements, Qualifications and Skills:

  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from an accredited school.
  • Completion of Nephrology Fellowship.
  • Completion of an Interventional Nephrology Fellowship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
  • Current Medical License or ability to obtain current Medical License in the state of Nevada.
  • Current DEA and Nevada State Pharmacy Certificate or ability to obtain both.
  • Ability to obtain medical professional liability insurance.
  • Ability to fulfill all assigned duties regarding clinic coverage, hospital coverage, consults, night calls, weekend calls, and dialysis rounds.
  • Conducts oneself in accordance with all company policies, procedures and handbook.
  • Knowledge of an ability to apply professional medical principles, procedures, and techniques.
  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette.
  • Performs all duties in a tactful and professional manner.
