Middlesex Hospital is currently accepting applications for the
Middlesex Hospital Nurse Residency Program is part of a National program formed jointly by the Vizient and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). It is designed to effectively support new graduate nurses as you transition into your professional roles as caregivers in the acute care hospital setting. The Graduate Nurse Residency Program is also accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as an Accredited Practice Transition Program, with Distinction for Med/Surg Nursing. This ANCC accreditation validates hospital residency programs that transition registered nurses into new practice settings. To be certified, programs must meet rigorous, evidence-based standards for quality and excellence.
Graduates of this 1 year residency program can expect to: Experience 1:1 preceptorship for the first 12 weeks; Actively participate in unit activities and nursing councils; Complete an evidence-based practice project; Areas that will be taking RN Residents are General Medicine; General Surgery; Telemetry; Orthopedics; Comfort Care; Oncology; Medical Detox; Bachelor's degree in Nursing received from an accredited nursing program between December 2023 through August 2024.
# Eligible to obtain Connecticut Licensure within the first three months of graduation.
