Brief Overview:
The Inpatient Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellowship will provide Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants with a broad experience across inpatient medical settings. Clinical practice will be focused in the Renal, End-Stage Renal, Immunology, Endocrine, Adolescent Medicine and Admission Team settings. This full-time APP Fellowship will build competency by means of hands –on direct care experiences, didactic classes, simulation and presentations. The APP Fellows will train with physicians and APPs, and integrate with members of the multidisciplinary team. APP Fellows will be supported by a core team of MD/NP/PA leaders, APP liaisons, preceptors, and mentors. Clinical time will include night/weekend rotation.

This Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant Fellow will be responsible for:
  • Front-line care and coordination of pediatric patients including assessment, diagnosis, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, bedside procedures, and family centered care of patients and their families.
  • Consulting and collaborating with acute care providers and interdisciplinary team members on all assigned inpatients during daily rounds. Conducting patient assessment and medical history, physical exams, and diagnosing health and developmental problems.
  • Caring for patients with both acute and chronic disease by managing therapeutic regimens according to approved guidelines.
  • Participating in ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives, as well as facilitation of patient/family and multidisciplinary team
Schedule : 50% day/night rotation, every 3rd weekend. Three 12 hour shifts per week.
Fellowship start date: January 6, 2025

To qualify, you must have:
  • Graduated from an accredited Master of Physician Assistant Studies or MSN /NP or DNP Program.
  • PA, PNP or FNP Board Certification
  • Massachusetts NP or PA license
  • MCSR and DEA upon hire
  • BLS upon hire
  • PALS & ACLS certification within 3 months of hire
  • Open to new graduates or experienced PA's and NP's
  • Cover letter preferred
