Peak Energy is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to own the mechanical design of our utility scale sodium-ion energy storage systems (ESS). The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for mechanical system and component designs and will work with other design, analysis, manufacturing and program teams both at the high level in design direction and deep in the engineering implementation. Strong ownership in design of Peak's High Voltage ESS mechanical systems from architecture through continuous improvement
Define product design direction by meticulously exploring broadly and deeply, while trading and communicating design decisions
Focus on design areas of need, which may include: battery module, HVDC chain, thermal systems integration, electronics module integration and LV harnessing.
Interface tightly with partners such as thermal and structural analysts and other design functions to inform design decisions
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
~Strong structural and thermal engineering fundamentals
~ Extensive use of commercial CAD and PLM software
~ Familiarity with high voltage battery system or power electronics design
~ Experience with design and manufacturing of medium to high volume products

Product design experience with high volume automated manufacturing requirements
