Portland OR, United States OAG Full time

Expert Anesthesiology. Smart Care. That's OAG. Since our formation in 1989, we have grown steadily to become one of the country's largest physician owned anesthesia practices. OAG provides expert anesthesia services at over 40 sites serving a variety of hospitals, surgical centers, and clinics in the Portland Oregon Metro area. With over 200 employed physicians and CRNAs, OAG is uniquely positioned to provide a well-managed, growth environment for you to expand your career.

OAG is an equal opportunity employer supporting an inclusive culture that promotes and values diversity. OAG's mission is to provide value to our patients, partners, and community through the delivery of safe, innovative, and efficient patient care of the highest quality. We hire to these values: Service, Excellence, Professionalism, Integrity, and Partnership. These are the values that drive us and make OAG a great place to work.

We are actively seeking an adult cardiac anesthesiologist to join a diverse and exciting practice at OAG. We offer cardiac anesthesia services at several area hospitals with a range of case mix and clinical opportunities. Cases range from CABG and valve replacement to heart failure including heart transplant. Specific sites offer advanced cardiac surgical procedures such as robotic mitral surgery, mechanical circulatory support including durable VAD and Impella, and complex aortic surgery. We also support robust structural heart programs offering TAVR, Mitraclip, Triclip, Watchman, and TMVR with the potential for advanced procedural echo guidance. Our cardiac anesthesiologists occupy leadership positions within multiple hospital systems and are critical, respected members of the cardiovascular centers. We are lucky to provide varied practice settings and are able to tailor the practice to your interests and expertise.

In addition, we remain part of a hard-working and collegial group that manages the full case spectrum for multiple hospital systems which include a level 1 trauma center, multiple tertiary referral hospitals, as well as smaller hospitals and ASCs. The general anesthesia case mix includes general surgery, vascular, ortho/spine, neuro, urology, gyn, ENT, healthy peds and a large and growing volume of out-of-OR cases. There are opportunities for thoracic surgery cases including robotic, VATS, and open lung resection as well as esophageal surgery. Providers can elect to join an OB anesthesia team if they are interested.

The ideal candidate will have exposure to most of the cases described above and experience managing complex cardiac surgical patients. Board eligibility/certification and cardiac anesthesia fellowship training is required. OAG has a robust mentorship program and we strive to promote your growth throughout your career. Excellent transesophageal echocardiography skills are critical and certification in Advanced Perioperative Transesophageal Echocardiography is required. Leadership qualities and a willingness to actively help shape and build cardiac anesthesia programs will make our next partner invaluable.

OAG has navigated the recent maelstrom of instability in anesthesiology (and health care more generally) more successfully than most practices, which is a testament to our size, well-established business infrastructure, and strong health system parternships. Evolving business models are designed to provide the most flexible, generous, and supportive independent practice opportunities possible.

We offer a great benefit package, and to support our physicians, OAG has a strong, centrally located Portland corporate staff which handles billing, contracting, finance, accounting, compliance, marketing, IT, human resources and operations.

The city of Portland is Oregon's largest and sits about an hour west of the majestic Cascade Mountains and less than two hours east of the beautiful Pacific Ocean beaches. Living in Portland presents you an opportunity for a wide range of activities for both professional and personal pursuit.

Begin your journey with OAG by submitting your CV and application today. EOE.
