Location: Hampton University
Objective: The Plumber possesses the ability to assist in a variety of skills encompassing most of the construction trades; and ensuring that tools and materials are available at job site. Conduct regular building tours, inspections, identifying needs and executing corrective action and/or coordinating with management and outside contractors.
• Cutting, assembling and installing pipes and tubes with attention to existing infrastructure.
• Locate and repair issues with water supply lines and drains.
• Installing and maintaining water supply systems.
• Repair or replace broken drainage lines, clogged drains, faucets etc.
• Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.).
• Follow state laws and regulations and adhere to local building codes.
• Workdays and schedules are generally routine, however are subject to change. Be prepared/available to work nights or weekends, on a rotating basis, to service emergency needs of our customers.
• Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling as necessary, reporting any mechanical issues, and filling out and submitting monthly vehicle inspection form.
• Maintain proper stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
• Document all installed equipment: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary.
• Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and explain fully to Maintenance Supervisor what the issue is and what is needed to correct.
• Complete work orders and record material utilized on jobs. Receive and complete work orders while maintaining accurate records on material and labor.
• Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies.
• Maintain good working order of company vehicle including refueling, report any mechanical issues and filling out and submitting monthly vehicle inspection form.
Certificate degree or two-year degree of an plumbing program from a trade school or community college preferred or completion of an plumbing apprenticeship program.
Valid plumbing license.
Experience: Requires three to five years’ experience in inspection, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting plumbing systems and equipment.
Skills: Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plumbing diagrams and manufacturer’s installation manuals. Why Work Full-Time for The Budd Group??
