Wolfe Eye Clinic is searching for Fellowship trained BC/BE pediatric/adult strabismus ophthalmologist to join our growing Des Moines regional practice. Our current regional professional pediatric staff includes 3 optometrists and a very busy pediatric ophthalmologist after the recent retirement of a senior pediatric ophthalmologist. This pediatric eye department is the nearest provider of these subspecialty services for a population of over one million.

The successful candidate for this position will join a comprehensive and subspecialty practice that includes retina, cornea, glaucoma, and oculoplastic subspecialists. The pediatric/adult strabismus referral relationships with pediatricians and other eye care providers are well established in this practice.

Our pediatric eye team has over 18,000 patient visits annually. Surgical volume has increased steadily to over 1,000 cases annually. All surgical cases are performed in our own ophthalmology specific six OR ASC that provides the latest in surgical technology and a staff that is 100% dedicated to eye surgery. In addition to a busy surgical and clinical practice the successful candidate would share responsibility for local retinopathy of prematurity screenings and treatment with the other pediatric ophthalmologist and our retina fellows.

Our Clinic has been in operation for over 100 years and all ophthalmologists, who have established careers here, have enjoyed a fulfilling practice both financially and professionally. Our statewide ophthalmology staff includes 5 cornea, 5 glaucoma, 8 retina, 2 pediatric, 2 oculoplastic and 6 comprehensive surgeons. Our average physician compensation is typically in the top 10% nationally. The practice has equal ownership across the physician staff and is managed on a democratic basis with one vote per physician. These arrangements have created an environment that all Wolfe physicians have found very appealing and rewarding.
