Director of Biostatistics

As a Director of Biostatistics, you will assume a prominent role in leading a diverse range of projects, offering expert consultation and collaboration with professionals in epidemiology, informatics, clinical, data science, and engineering. In this role, you will further hone your analytical skills, gain exposure to various therapeutic domains, and drive your team's career growth in a flexible work environment. Your responsibilities will extend to shaping research design and analytical strategies, providing insights into protocols, and overseeing the creation and review of statistical analysis plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Direct and guide biostatistical efforts within real-world data studies, including the development of statistical analysis plans (SAPs), results interpretation, and report writing.
  2. Develop and implement technical solutions that align with project objectives, adeptly addressing complex biostatistical challenges, selecting appropriate statistical methods, and leading in the interpretation of results.
  3. Lead the development and evaluation of programming specifications and analytic plans, employing advanced analytical methods when necessary, and ensuring the effective interpretation of analytical outcomes.
  4. Collaborate closely with epidemiologists and clinical experts to identify and address statistical support needs for studies.
  5. Maintain clear and efficient communication with team members regarding study execution, timelines, data quality, and result interpretation.
  6. Implement rigorous quality control procedures for analysis data sets.
  7. Play a pivotal role in driving the department's long-term growth strategy by spearheading process improvement initiatives and staying at the forefront of evolving statistical methodologies relevant to real-world data (RWD).
Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, or an equivalent field is highly preferred.
  • 10 years of hands-on experience working with healthcare data from various sources, including electronic health records and claims data.
  • Demonstrated mastery of statistical principles and methodologies for observational data, with a track record of successfully applying and implementing these techniques.
  • Proficiency in SQL for accessing and processing rich RWD and deep expertise in the SAS programming language for data processing and analysis.
  • Exceptional critical thinking, questioning, and listening skills, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to convey complex statistical information in a clear and compelling manner.
  • Proven leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage and collaborate with cross-functional teams, driving them toward common objectives.
