This position assists with the assessment and admission of new patients to the facility. Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Arlington is conveniently located in Arlington Texas and is a psychiatric children's hospital providing inpatient programs for children and adolescents. The Assessment and Referral Clinician's responsibilities include the following: * Receive referral calls, obtain minimal demographic information, and refer the call to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment. * Process all intake requests for information and external referrals. * Completes insurance pre-certifications as needed. * Assist in arranging for admission of patients, including alerting the business office staff to * Will begin the verification of benefits, initiating calls to physicians and other related tasks as directed by the Case Manager. * Ensures the proper "Releases of Information" forms are completed upon admission and process them accordingly. * Assist in obtaining needed records and information from referral sources. * Arrange disposition and community resources. Communicate with the designated Treatment Coordinator as indicated. * Maintains good communication with the Utilization Review, Business Office, and other staff as indicated. * Maintains log of received calls and disposition of the calls, and other informational tools as assigned. * Establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers, practicing good standards of customer service. * Responsible for assessing, diagnosing and treatment a variety of patient populations. Qualified Assessment and Referral Clinician candidates should have the following: * Must be a Licensed Master's level clinician (LCSW, LMSW, LPC or LPC-Associate) or RN. * LMSW and LPC-Associate applicants must be in active supervision. * Qualified candidates should have some experience in behavioral health assessment and inpatient treatment. * At least one-year previous experience on an acute behavioral health hospital preferred.
