Hospitalist invited to join critical access hospital in a scenic riverside community in Maine, 1 hr from Bangor, 1.Skowhegan, Maine: We invite a skilled Hospitalist to join the inpatient medical staff of an independent 25-bed critical access hospital providing care to more than 30,000 residents in this riverside community in central Maine. Join 40+ physicians (and over 700 employees) working to deliver progressive health and medical services in beautiful, state-of-the-art facilities.
Qualified physicians who are Family Medicine or Internal Medicine trained are equally welcome, MDs or DOs. Candidates requiring H1b sponsorship are encouraged to apply.
You will enjoy a convenient schedule of 7 days on, 7 days off, followed by 7 nights on, 7 days off, with 12-hour shifts. You will handle admissions and discharges, and cover a 4-bed open ICU.

Skowhegan is the jumping-off point to The North Woods, an outdoor recreation lover’s dream, with dozens of lakes and rivers, and scenic mountains. Locals frequent Eaton Mountain (3 miles from the hospital) for skiing, snowboarding and sledding, or the big slopes of Sugarloaf, one of New England’s premier ski facilities, just 40 miles away. In the summertime, enjoy the activities offered by numerous lakes, rivers and streams throughout the region. From some of the best fly-fishing in New England, to golf, white-water rafting, hiking and biking, or camping on the banks of a quiet lake, there is something here for everyone who loves the outdoors. The town is located along the picturesque Kennebec River, which once powered local industry.
