Physical Therapist

ACDS, Inc. is dedicated to providing lifetime resources and services of exceptional quality for children and adults with Down syndrome, Autism and other developmental disabilities.

The ACDS Pelham branch, located in Pelham, provides preschool special education programs consisting of 8:1:2 and 12:1:2 classes.

ACDS Pelham is looking for a licensed Physical Therapist (PT) specializing in pediatrics to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team The PT is responsible for the remediation of children with a wide range of disabilities/delays. The PT contributes goals to the Individual Educational Plan (IEP) and will work on these target objectives throughout the school year. The PT will provide quality individual and group sessions in person while working at our center-based program (no traveling required).

30 hours per week, full-time position

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8:30am to 3:00pm

Wednesday 8:30am to 3:30pm

Friday 8:30am to 2:30pm

Key responsibilities of the Physical Therapist include:

The PT will provide and direct physical therapy services to students as per their IEP mandates.

The PT will develop treatment plans to achieve identified goals.

The PT will adhere to applicable principles and practices of physical therapy, APTA policies/procedures, and state regulations.

The PT will work collaboratively with OTs, SLP's, school psychologists and classroom staff as needed to provide positive treatment outcomes.

The PT will work effectively with parents, teaching staff and other professionals directly involved in the care and treatment of the child to develop and monitor IEP services

The PT will complete all necessary paperwork accurately and timely (e.g., daily session notes, quarterly progress reports, annual reviews, etc.).

The PT will participate in meetings and consultations with education staff and the multidisciplinary team concerning the needs of each child as related to his/her mandated services and progress updates

The PT will be responsible for providing input into and when appropriate fabrication of child's assistive technology, adaptive equipment, and orthotic appliance needs

The PT will comply with federal and state Physical Therapy regulations.

Qualifications:

Valid New York State Physical Therapy license

Master's Degree or Doctorate degree

Must have experience working with children

Bilingual skills are a plus, but not required

Experience:

Pediatric PT experience preferred

New Graduates with Pediatric experience considered

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $78,000.00 per year
