As a *Medical Assistant*, you will be a part of the Clinical Care Team and engage our patients to develop lifelong well-being and health. The Medical Assistant makes a difference in people’s lives, administers prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to ill, injured, convalescent, and disabled persons under direction of a Physician.
*Job Functions *
* Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type
* Manage the provider’s schedule to ensure efficient workflow
* Obtain and record medical history and vital signs
* Room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments
* Perform specimen collection and point of care testing
* Prepare and administer medications under direction of healthcare providers
* Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures
* Maintain established quality control standards
*Required Qualifications*
* Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a Medical Assisting program
* Current CPR certification
* 1 or more years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care
*Preferred Qualifications*
* Bilingual in English and Spanish proficiency
* An active Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification from one of the following organizations: AAMA, AMT, ARMA, MedCa, NAHP, NAHT, NCCT, NHA or AAH
* Experience with HEDIS and ICD/CPT coding
* Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience
* Experience with Electronic Medical Records
* Experience in a fast paced/high volume environment
*Working hours*: Monday to Friday 8AM-5PM
