Registered Nurse (RN) Resident – Med/Surg

Medina Hospital’s 3 South Med/Surg Unit is a 32-bed unit specializing in general medical surgical care and observation for adult and geriatric patients. 3 South delivers care to various other conditions including pneumonia, diabetes, sepsis, GI bleed, cellulitis, COPD exacerbation, various cancers, kidney stones, and bowel obstructions. This unit also cares for patients undergoing hysterectomies, thyroidectomies, colon resections and appendectomies.

Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.

~ Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).

~ Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk. 

~ Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.

~ Document in patients’ medical records. 


Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.

~ New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience.


Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
