Each day, ground stations receive vast amounts of data from satellites in orbit. Using complex algorithms, they process all the bits and bytes received and turn them into useable information for the end users who consume this data. As the volume of data grows, ground stations need to evolve and adapt. In this role you will work onsite with a team of skilled Software Engineers developing Satellite Ground Stations Software in Java and C++.
*Develop and maintain Java based backend applications for satellite ground systems in both Windows and Linux in the full software development life cycle (SDLC).
* Modify and improve existing codebases for enhanced performance and scalability.
* Conduct software design and code reviews, integrating best practices and innovations.
* Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to Agile principles.
* Participate in integration and project milestone completion under guidance from supervisors.
*Typically requires a bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 8 years of prior engineering experience.
* Experience as a software technical lead.
* Experience working as a software engineer on Ground Station Control software.
* Experience programming in Java.
* S. government issued security clearance prior to start date. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
*DevOps experience.
