This role is currently hybrid.

LG Electronics recently established North America Innovation Center (“LG NOVA”) in Santa Clara, California, USA., with an ambitious vision to become the nerve center of global innovation. Aiming to create the future of LG with the focus on disruptive and exponential growth, LG NOVA works with global corporations, startups, governments, and technology stakeholders to create new businesses, establish strategic partnerships, and develop a broad ecosystem using the process of “outside-in” innovation.

Job Description:

VP of Engineering, Healthcare or CTO, Healthcare (dependent on seniority level)

As the CTO of a new healthcare venture powered by LG, you will be a visionary leader and driver of our digital product and technology development strategies. This role is cross-functional by definition: you will partner closely with our EIRs, government relations, marketing, sales, and business development leads to help our new venture strategically build out its digital architecture and put its first products in market.

The CTO will be responsible for leading our Engineering, Data, Product Development, DevOps and Compliance teams to ideate, develop, deliver and report on high quality products that meet business goals and help drive better outcomes for patients with chronic conditions. The CTO will be fully accountable for the creation and execution of the product development roadmap and engineering strategies. They will work with other operational teams and architects to define proofs-of-concept and minimal valuable products for prototyping and piloting in these areas.

Responsibilities may include the following:

· Align the company’s product and technology development with the short- and long-term commercial goals

· Ensure that products are developed on schedule, on budget, and meet quality and security standards, cost/benefit objectives, and market demand

· Maintain internal and external security of company data; ensure HIPAA compliance at all levels and protect the new health venture from external or internal security threats

· Optimize and integrate the Agile development process; define sprints, stories and development milestones

· Work closely with the Product team to create and maintain a product development roadmap

· Identify emerging and available technologies to improve products, services, and the development/release process

· Create and oversee high-level KPIs

· Assist in identifying, onboarding and training top talent; lead, mentor and motivate teams to a high-level of performance and morale; create a cross-functional culture of trust, respect and collaboration

· Collaborate cross-functionally to create trust, alignment and transparency with stakeholders at all levels

· Serve on the executive committee to align technology and product goals with organizational objectives

· Represent the new health venture in external presentations, investor meetings, and other public and private forums

· Monitor and manage product schedules, scopes and budgets and delivering as scheduled

· Ability to recruit and build an engineering team and evaluate and manage technology providers

· Needs to work effectively in a shifting landscape, with the ability to adapt and think on your feet when things don’t go as planned, and to manage others to achieve the same

· Ensure alignment between product, business and platform priorities in context of the new venture’s overall strategy and goals, while ensuring the end-user needs are met

· Establish deep partnerships with business stakeholders to ensure product achieves business requirements and aligns to other organizational strategies and priorities

· Rapidly build credibility and partnership with key internal partners and leaders

Education and Experience:

· BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field, MS preferred

· Minimum 10 years of experience leading Product and/or Engineering teams, with a minimum of three years as a CTO or VP of Engineering

· 5+ years of experience building, releasing and maintaining consumer-facing digital product experiences in healthcare

· Exceptional leadership abilities with a track record of building, managing and motivating high-performing teams

· Strong business acumen, with the ability to align priorities and projects with business goals

· Demonstrated commitment to organizational health and values

· Demonstrated ability to implement and maintain Agile methodologies

· Experience in the digital health, wellness, chronic condition management, corporate benefits industry or experience working within a Provider Healthcare Management Organization, preferred

· Knowledge of value-based care contracting, preferred

· Startup experience, highly preferred

· IoT experience, highly preferred

· EHR/EMR integration experience, highly preferred

· Experience integrating with hospital and/or clinic IT systems, highly preferred

Please Note: This contract position is not with LG Electronics but with a startup that is supported by LG NOVA. We expect this contract to last around 6 months with the potential to move to a full-time position with the startup.

Compensation: please note the compensation range provided is flexible and dependent on other factors including the experience level, location, etc.
