We are currently seeking a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon with a specialization in breast reconstruction to join our esteemed Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department.
The successful candidate will join our dynamic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team, providing expert care in breast reconstruction. This role involves working closely with our oncology and breast surgery departments to offer a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, ensuring the highest standards of service and patient outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and techniques in a supportive and collaborative environment.
Perform a wide range of breast reconstruction surgeries, including flap techniques (e.g., DIEP, TRAM, LATISSIMUS), implant-based reconstructions, and revision surgeries.
Engage in patient education initiatives, offering support and information to help patients make informed decisions about their care.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department through research, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Board Certification in Plastic Surgery, with specialized training or extensive experience in breast reconstruction surgery.
Valid Maryland medical license, or eligibility to obtain.

Physician shall be responsible for providing high quality, efficient, patient-centered and cost-effective care to any and all assigned patients. Care may be provided in the ambulatory, sub-acute or acute care environment as deemed appropriate. Full time is defined as not less than forty (40) hours of direct patient clinical or administrative care per week, generally assumed to be performed in five (5) full work days. Participate in any and all quality assurance programs as assigned.
Supervise the administrative responsibilities of all non-physician employees with whom Physician works.
Assure compliance with applicable UM Shore Regional l policies and procedures, including but not limited to personnel actions, payroll practices, orientation and training, charity care, accounts payable, coding, billing and claims processing.
Assure compliance with local, state and federal guidelines such as OSHA, CLIA and wage and labor regulations.
Participate in the development of and performance to meet budgets including review of expenses and ongoing budget reconciliation.
Participate in practice and group development activities such as community speaking, volunteerism and service to increase Physician visibility.
Possesses and maintains current license to practice medicine in the State of Maryland required.
Possesses and maintains, if applicable, appropriate clinical privileges at a minimum of one UMMS affiliated acute care facility.
Highly effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels hospital staff, patients, visitors, and levels of staff.
