Front Desk Manager Summary:
Responsible for directing, planning and coordinating activities of the Front Desk staff to ensure prompt, courteous service to all guests, maintain established operational standards and maximize hotel profits.
Manage front desk staff: recruit, hire, train, coach, counsel, performance evaluations, and development, resolve conflicts, discipline and terminate staff as appropriate.
Manage departmental expenses within budgeted guidelines
Ensure all guest service standards and all hotel and departmental policies and procedures are followed and consistently applied.
Maintain standards of guest service quality.
Resolve guest complaints as appropriate to maintain guest satisfaction.
Trains front desk staff on proper revenue management procedures, including successful selling techniques, current specials and/or promotions, and rate structures.
Manage the reservation function to maintain highest possible room occupancy and average daily rate through suggestive selling by employees.
Set goals, providing ongoing feedback, and rewarding/recognizing the front desk staff.
Ensure staff has current knowledge of hotel products, services, facilities, events, pricing and policies.
Review daily reports, credit card reversals, bank deposits, account receivables, rooming lists, office supply inventory.
Manage hotel gift shop, inventory, restocking, pricing and upkeep.
Organize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings to disseminate pertinent information and attend other hotel meetings as deemed necessary.
Conduct any front desk services activities as necessary.
Knowledge of front office operations, including ability to plan, organize and direct front desk staff.
