Under the direction of the Dental Director, the Dental Hygienist offers and provides oral prophylaxis and instructions on oral health care and disease prevention to patients. Participates in developing and reviewing hygiene protocols, audit procedures, and quality assurance procedures.
Performs preventive dental procedures including dental prophylaxis, root planning and scaling, sealants, and oral health education.
Consults when appropriate and refers patients as necessary to dentist, dental specialists and/or medical providers.
Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations
Graduate of accredited Dental Hygiene program.
Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)
Basic computer literacy ability to comply with department needs and expectations (i.e., electronic medical record documentation, obtaining background information and reports on patients, following up on apt, etc).
Bilingual in Spanish/English strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity.
Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to perform, relevant dental practices, protocol, trends, and best practices.
If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. FHCSD Wellness - Employee Hub (gobenefits.net)
