RESPONSIBILITIES | WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Supportive Learning Environment : Paraprofessionals assist the teacher in creating a welcoming, supportive classroom where every student feels valued and empowered to learn. Individualized Attention : Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to understand and complete assignments, and ensuring they stay engaged with their learning. Behavioral Support : Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and a productive learning atmosphere. Communication Facilitation : Paraprofessionals act as a bridge between students and teachers, helping to clarify instructions and ensuring that each student's needs are understood and met. Instructional Assistance : Aid in the preparation and delivery of instructional materials, adapting resources to meet the diverse needs of students. Emotional Support : Offer a compassionate ear and a supportive presence, helping students navigate emotional and social challenges. Team Collaboration : Paraprofessionals work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff to provide a holistic approach to each student's education and well-being. QUALIFICATIONS | WHAT YOU BRING Educational Background : A high school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework or certification in special education, psychology, or a related field is a plus. Relevant Experience : Experience working with children with special needs or autism (e.g., RBT, mental health technician, teacher assistant, teacher aide) Communication Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Empathy and Patience : Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed. Teamwork Mindset : Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse team of educators and specialists.
