Associate - Labor and Employment Practice

Our client, a highly respected law firm based in San Francisco, is actively expanding its Labor and Employment practice and is currently seeking an Associate. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of relevant experience in labor and employment law.

Required Experience:

  • Providing advice and counseling to clients on a comprehensive array of laws affecting employers in California, including but not limited to discrimination and harassment, wage-and-hour regulations, leaves of absence, reasonable accommodation, discipline, wrongful termination, and compliance with the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.
  • Expertise in assisting employers with traditional labor-management issues, such as contract negotiations, grievances and arbitration, and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board.
  • Demonstrated ability in representing employers in federal and state litigation, including complex wage-and-hour Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) and class action cases, as well as individual discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims.
  • Experience in representing employers in administrative proceedings, including those before the California Labor Commissioner, California Civil Rights Department, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).
  • Conducting client trainings on employment law compliance.
  • Preparing and updating employee handbooks, employment agreements, and other employment policies for both California and other states.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis with a high degree of proficiency.
