O degree and a current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of employment. Certification by The American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR) and a current DEA certificate (or in progress) are also required.
Apply and modify the principles, methods, and techniques of medicine to provide comprehensive geriatric and post-acute care services.
- Ensure comprehensive delivery of services and quality patient care.
- Evaluate medical procedures and everyday situations and suggest ways to improve delivery of service.
- Evaluate and treat patients with physical and/or cognitive impairments and disabilities that result in musculoskeletal conditions, neurological conditions, or other medical conditions.
- Monitor ongoing progress and health of patients, and change treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide adaptive tools to improve the overall health and physical functioning of patients.
- Counsel patients and their families and help them adapt to lifestyle changes.
- Degree of Doctor of Medicine (M.Proficiency in documenting and billing in any setting above, or in the hospitalist setting.
- Ability to react calmly, objectively, and effectively in emergency situations.
- Knowledge of medical practice related to geriatric and post-acute care settings.
- Knowledge of medical policies, regulations, and procedures.
- Skill in developing and maintaining medical quality assurance and quality control standards.
Full-time or part-time schedules are available. This position is ideal for a physician who appreciates a flexible work schedule and minimizing uncompensated clinical work. There is limited or no call required, and the schedule is flexible but must be able to round once weekly for a few hours in person.
