Inova Children’s Cardiology is an outpatient practice to complement the Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery program at Inova L.Murphy Children’s Hospital. We strive to provide excellent care for patients of all ages including fetuses, newborns to adolescents, and adults with congenital heart disease. Prepares patient for pediatric or fetal echocardiogram and performs exam per echo lab protocol.
- Communicates effectively with patient and/or parent to obtain clinical pediatric cardiology history and/or maternal fetal history/informed consent from patient or patient's chart
- Identifies errors and takes immediate action for corrections, as evidenced by the EMR and PACS Systems reports. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of echocardiography principles, theory, anatomy and congenital cardiac pathology processes, and utilizing the most appropriate techniques and/or positioning for optimal examinations.
- Maintains proper operation of ultrasound equipment. Recognizes equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate corrective action.
- Participates in staff development, in-service workshops and educational activities.
- Travel to outside clinic locations.
- Inova Children’s Cardiology
- Travel: Various satellite clinics in Virginia and Maryland
- Graduate of an accredited diagnostic ultrasound school or five years of specialized training in a hospital/healthcare setting.
- Experience: Recent experience in a hospital/healthcare environment as a sonographer or sonographer student.
